1. I found it most helpful that it was a brief glimpse of all the classes that are to come. It helped me to get a better understanding of the direction that we are headed in.

Hey Christina, Thanks for the feedback and the encouraging words. One great way to build support networks at FBLC is to promote and grow the parent support group. Bringing more parents together helps grow a resource that can help in many ways. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the introduction to all the areas that we are going to be learning over the next months to come. I am really interested in the Communication and Lonliness. Knowing how to communicate with the kids is key to understanding. Knowing what forms of communication there are for each different disability. The lonliness is a part that I need to understand. In some situations I know the child and the history, but how do you approach the new kids and their parents about the disconnect the child might have from the group.

Hey DeLisa, Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback! I look forward to seeing you in the 301 class. The thing to key in on in the lonliness unit is the word alone. Sometimes we have to work hard to connect someone who feels alone with the world around him or her. Like a candle in the darkness sometimes one word or act can make a huge difference. Sometimes you are the answer to someone elses prayer.

1. What I found most helpful in saturday's disscussion would have to be the group itself, I enjoyed everyone being able to share and discuss past experience, it was great!
